If you’re buying 600W+ solar panels wholesale, you’re not just comparing price per watt. You’re signing off on equipment that has to perform for 25 years. Step 1: Read the Label Like a Compliance Officer
The datasheet is marketing. The label is a legal document. Flip a module over and look for the factory label. It should include the model number, rated wattage, current at max power (Imp), voltage at max power (Vmp), open-circuit voltage (Voc), short-circuit current (Isc), and the tolerance. You’d be surprised how many buyers skip this because the datasheet already looks clean. But here’s the thing — the label is what customs, inspectors, and your bank will reference if there’s a dispute.
Check that the label specs match the datasheet. I’ve seen batches where the label said 600W but the datasheet said 605W. That’s within the positive tolerance (usually 0 to +5W), so it’s fine. But if the label says 590W and the datasheet says 600W, that’s a red flag. And no, the vendor can’t “adjust” the label later. The label is applied at the factory under controlled conditions.
Pro tip: ask for the label photos from a current batch, not the sample you’ll receive. A vendor with nothing to hide will send them within an hour. If they hesitate, that’s your first warning sign.
Step 2: Get the Flash Test Report (Not Just a Datasheet)
A flash test (also called a performance test or STC test) measures the module’s actual electrical output under standard test conditions. The datasheet gives you the theoretical numbers. The flash test report shows what the module actually produced at the factory. These are not always the same — and the difference matters.
For a 600W module, the flash test report should show the measured power at STC (1000 W/m², 25°C cell temperature, AM1.5 spectrum). Ask for the flash test report from the specific batch you’re buying, not a generic sample. In my experience, modules within one batch should be within 2-3W of each other. If the spread is wider, you might have a mix of different cell grades — which means some panels are being sold as 600W but flashing closer to 595W.

First, is the panel actually designed for microinverter integration? Some are just a regular panel with a a small inverter box bolted to the frame. That’s fine, but it changes the thermal profile. The microinverter gets hotter than a standalone unit, and higher temperatures reduce its lifespan. Ask for the thermal test data — specifically, the NOCT (Nominal Operating Cell Temperature) and the microinverter’s maximum ambient temperature rating. Do a statistical sampling inspection. The industry standard AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) for panels is usually 2.5% for major defects, but if you’re buying a 50,000-unit annual order, you need a stricter protocol. I use a 3-step inspection: 10% of boxes opened, 100% of those modules visually and mechanically inspected, and 5% of those connected to a DC meter to verify output.
