Their inverter line is less established, so replacement parts availability is spotter than, say, Enphase. (fun fact: I waited 11 days for an RMA on a Trina inverter in 2024. The Enphase part arrived in 3 days for the same issue on a parallel project.)
5. Do I need to buy a full solar panel and inverter kit from Trina for a smooth install?
No, but it helps if you value simplicity over flexibility. Mixing brands is totally fine technically—and often cheaper. For example, Trina panels + Enphase microinverters is a very popular combo among our peers. The inverter kit approach just reduces the number of vendor relationships you manage.
For a large project (say, >500kW), I’d recommend separate sourcing. For a small commercial roof (<50kW), the all-in-one kit cuts your ordering time seriously—like, from 4 hours of spec work down to 45 minutes. That matters when you’re quoting 3 jobs a week.
6. Wind turbines are a completely different thing—right?
Right. But I get why the question comes up. If you’re looking at solar, you’re likely also looking at “where are the most wind turbines located” for hybrid projects or site assessments. The short answer: as of 2024, the most wind turbines are in China (over 300 GW installed), followed by the United States (Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma), Germany, and India.
For a Trina Solar buyer, the relevance is this: if your project is in a high-wind zone (like the Texas Panhandle), bifacial panels can actually benefit from the ground reflection—but you need a mounting system rated for higher wind loads. That’s a separate spec from the panel itself. Verify your racking supplier’s wind tunnel data before finalizing.
